Sculpture workshop

The sculpture workshop in the listed former Arnheim safe factory in Wedding was expanded by the bbk berlin using funds from the Senate in 1985. It is utilised by around 500 artists annually. Comprising a total floor space of 3,600 sqm and a maximum hall height of 12 m, artists have ideal and diverse working opportunities here for projects in metal, stone, wood, ceramics as well as plaster and moulding. Up to 25 artists can work simultaneously in five workshop areas. Covering a length of 160 metres, the individual halls are connected by a gallery in which work can also be carried out.

All user costs include 7% VAT / accident and third party insurance.

Appointment cancellations

Appointment cancellations at least 3 (three) working day in advance, via telephone or to our office e-mail: druckwerkstatt@bbk-kulturwerk.de. Not timely canceled appointments will be charged.

Please use the e-mail addresses for appointment arrangements or general inquiries. Only in urgent cases or in case of short-term cancellations of appointments, the contact persons of the workshop departments should be contacted by telephone, as the colleagues are at work.

Metal workshop

A variety of dedicated machinery for metal work is available at the workshop’s generous workspaces that contain fitted winches.

Three-dimensional objects, sculptures or installations in wood, as well as frames or pedestals for exhibition purposes can be made and processed here using the appropriate tools.

Ceramic workshop

The Ceramics Studio provides two electric and one glass-fusing kiln for finished works of art, as well as an assay kiln for test runs.

Please submit your project details (project size and duration) for our planning in the 3rd tertial, September/October/November/December - by e-mail from August 5-9, 2024.

External firings are possible in a limited number.

The confirmation of the booking will be send exclusively via mail. Without confirmation there is no working space or kiln possible.
