Successful kick-off event in the media lab: Rumours of Noise - lecture #1

The first event in the “Rumors of Noise” series took place on 15.08.2024 in the Medienlabor/Kesselhaus of the Medienwerkstatt. Frauke Boggasch and Manfred Miersch hosted the pilot event as the start of a new lecture series. In loose succession, such lecture events as part of Media and Music Talks will invite people to listen to (loud) music together in a real space, which is thus temporarily constituted as a social space.

The opening event of Rumours was dedicated to Japanoise and transitions to the musical genre of drone, or drone doom, as well as a brief historical overview of various forms of NOISE from the 1920s to the present day. Above all, the collective listening experience of extreme music made the evening a special experience.
